Welcome back to Mash the Gas Podcast, your go-to source for all things NASCAR! Jeff and Kevin are here to recap the action from the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Kyle Larson put on a show, leading an impressive 462 of 500 laps, marking the most laps led by a Hendrick Motorsports driver and the most since 1977. With this victory, Larson advances to the round of 12 and is now a top championship contender.
Unfortunately, it was a tough night for Ty Gibbs, Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski, and Harrison Burton, all of whom were eliminated from the playoffs. We’ll dive into the Goodyear tire package for Bristol and discuss the overall short track package.
Looking ahead, the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway is on the horizon, where Kevin will be attending the race! Last time we were at Kansas, we witnessed the closest finish in NASCAR history.
